Welcome to the QEC 2018!
Written By: Jessica Sung and Jenny You
Hi, there! We’re the QEC 2018.
Entering our 30th year, we couldn’t be more excited to continue on the legacy of the QEC. Our team has been working away for the past few months to ensure that this year’s competition will be bigger and better than ever. In the summer months we’ve re-launched our website, as well as introduced the QEC newsletter to make it easier for you to keep up to date with the latest entrepreneurial news and information about this year’s application process! In celebration of our 30th year, this year we’ll be focusing on showcasing QEC’s rich history, giving the spotlight to our amazing past alumni; stay tuned for our upcoming campaigns.
As you can tell, the summer months have been pretty eventful for us and as the new school year approaches we’re looking forward to connecting with you whether you’re looking to be a competitor, judge, or sponsor. In the meantime, from our team to yours, we wanted to share a few productivity tools that the QEC has found helpful for managing projects and deliverables:
Toggl is an affordable time-tracking tool. By clicking ‘start’ when you begin working on a task, and ‘stop’ when you finish, Toggl makes it easy to identify efficiencies and time sinks for both individuals and entire organizations.
Trello is great for those who prefer exploring the free version of a tool before considering an upgrade to a premium version. Trello is a Pinterest-style productivity tool that allows its users to create ‘boards’ and visually organize all aspects of life, from shopping lists, to financials, to recipes for tonight’s dinner.
Moodnotes focuses on productivity through self-awareness and a healthy mind. By tracking moods and their causes each day, Moodnotes helps users learn more about themselves and how they can improve the quality of their everyday lives.
Focuster syncs its user’s calendar with their to-do lists. Based on the theory of losing 24-minutes of productivity each time you lose focus, Focuster automatically reschedules your to-do list to better fit your schedule to account for all those last minute meetings and any other event changes through a day.
